Blessings

I love, love this song by Laura Story, "Blessings." It has come to me in a time when I truly need it, because I'm facing my own unexpected trials and trying to trust and honor God through them. It's easy to feel hurt and disappointed by heartache and suffering, wondering why me? and what does this mean? Often it is impossible until years later to look back and see where God worked through the pain and through the difficulty. But I do believe that He works through it.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says:

But [the Lord] said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
